Professional Development Workshops are run by graduate students in psychology, including guest speakers as needed. Each workshop includes a lecture and roundtable(s). Some workshops are geared towards junior- or senior-level undergraduates to best help them with upcoming decisions such as degree planning and applications for graduate school.
All Levels
Mental Health in University: This workshop will discuss mental health concerns in university and strategies that can be used to improve mental health (i.e., mental health vs. mental illness, resources at Concordia, resources in Montreal). Roundtables will allow students (junior & senior) to discuss strategies and share ideas.
Junior-Level Workshops
Psychology Degree Planning: This workshop will cover Concordia’s class trajectories to graduation (Major, Honours, Specialization), differentiate between Tier 1 and Tier 2 classes, and OPQ requirements. Roundtables will allow students to ask questions and discuss options.
Getting Involved in Research: This workshop will cover steps to become involved in psychology research laboratories at Concordia and in other Montreal institutions. Roundtables will allow students to ask questions and discuss options.
Getting Involved in Clinical Work: This workshop will cover clinically-relevant volunteering positions available at Concordia (i.e., Concordia Students' Nightline) and in Montreal. Roundtables will allow students to ask questions and discuss options.
Getting Involved in Research: This workshop will cover steps to become involved in psychology research laboratories at Concordia and in other Montreal institutions. Roundtables will allow students to ask questions and discuss options.

Senior-Level Workshops
How to Apply for Graduate Funding: This workshop will cover a step-by-step guide of how to apply to federal and provincial funding for graduate studies and give tips for a stellar application. Guest speakers will include successful funding applicants from the psychology program (and faculty from funding committees?). Roundtables will allow students to get feedback on their existing applications/ideas.
How to Apply to Graduate School: This workshop will cover a step-by-step guide of how to apply to graduate programs in psychology (Research, Clinical) and give tips for a stellar application. Guest speakers will include faculty with admissions experience (i.e., Dr. David Mumby). Roundtables will allow students to get feedback on their existing applications/ideas.
Psychology Graduate Programs in Canada: This workshop will cover the different psychology graduate programs in Canada – Research, Clinical and PsyD – and how these match career goals. Roundtables will allow students to get feedback on their existing program considerations and career goals.
